Farmhouse super chunky blankets

knit3

Gratuitous, huge, snuggly… I’m not joking here, everybody needs one of these in their life! It is the perfect size for one person cosied up in front of the fire. The cream one in the photos is knitted on 15mm needles which is what the wool wrapper recommends. The grey one is knitted on 20mm and gives a much looser, cosier stitch which I far prefer so I am giving you the numbers for this. If you want to knit the cream size you will need a 15mm circular needle, plus 16 skeins of wool and you will also need to cast on 80 rather than 64 stitches.

What you will need:

20mm circular needle (80cm)

14 skeins of super chunky wool – I used Drops Polaris from wool warehouse

Pattern:

Cast on 64 stitches

Knit 4, purl 4

Repeat the above (you will always start with knit 4 and always end with purl 4 which will make your cosy rib pattern)

Continue to the end of a row until you have only around 3m of wool left from your 14 skeins then cast off.

That is literally it.
