Homemade Hummus

Takes approximately five minutes

Ingredients:

One tin of chickpeas

1 tbsp tahini

2 cloves of garlic (to your taste)

Lemon juice

Good extra virgin olive oil

Any additional flavouring you may like

Method:

  1. Drain the chickpeas, wash and put into a food processor.
  2. Add the garlic, tahini and a good squirt of equal amounts of lemon juice and olive oil. Blend.
  3. Season with salt & pepper. Blend.
  4. Keep tasting the hummus and add more oil or more lemon juice to your taste if it needs a little more ‘loosening’.

“I sometimes add a roasted red pepper (often have in a jar in the fridge) or left over onions, a beetroot, anything that you would like to use to add flavour to the hummus base mix. Keeps well refridgerated.”
