Following on from the hugely successful Jumbleberry jam comes Jumbleberry gin, based once again on my favourite Joey from friends phrase ‘what’s not to like?’
So here we go:
Ingredients:
350g white granulated or caster sugar
500g of any berries, I’m using raspberries, blackberries, red currants and black currants in this one because that’s what’s in season and that’s what I have!
2 x 750ml gin bottles total 1.5l
Method:
Wash your berries well then add all of the ingredients to a 2 litre Kilner jar. Hold the top tight and give a good shake to start to dissolve the sugar. This will need doing daily for at least a week. Keep in a darkened cupboard for at least a month before straining into sterilised bottles. Keep for yourself or gift this Christmas for a taste of summer sunshine as a winter aperitif.
